It must revive the pen's verve,
For times have altered
And there's a new call from above
To herald a tilt of things,
From the flimsy days in which I often faltered
To the ones that the Almighty brings.
And those are going to be a surprise to all
And to the baffling consternation of many
They will be gilded with rubies and silver and gold,
And no longer will be like those of old!
