Per Se Poem by Satish Verma

Per Se

Like domino effect
the brutal violence
was growing.

A cohort of moralities
makes you speechless.
You reach out for
the coal dust. Not towards
the earth, but heaven,
where a sniper was hiding.

Incognito a fear
looms large.
You start counting on fingers.

Tearing at grass roots
level, a windmill spawns
the beautiful dreams.

The body becomes
religion. You seek asylum
by the side of Buddha,
or tear off your ear like
Vincent Van Gogh.
