Ph: Politics: Presidential Papers (Must Be Red) Poem by Brian Johnston

Ph: Politics: Presidential Papers (Must Be Red)

One roll of toilet paper! Cheap! That's what the voters got,
Six sheets or more required for poop, and three more just for snot,
One square tears in the smallest mess (like someone spits on floor,)
Trump's true success not worth a guess, though "Alt-Right" (1)hope for more!
From mean to kind, he's service blind; no hint what he will do,
Dictator's tool, fear telegraphed, just shark bait in a zoo!
His stream of thought's a ricochet and always off the wall,
Perspectives are a dinosaur's (that's tar pit bound) that's all!

But someone trained his children well, like deer, they don't look awed,
Though spotlight nails them to a ‘T, ' they smile, till death, applaud!
It's funny how the poor assume that money means you're smart,
But healing wounds that Trump inflicts takes more than luck; it's art.
Fake labels only isolate, they never trash the flaws.
The good news! Hate, can lock a gate, and trap you breaking laws.
The time is near for Trump and friends to spend time in the dock!
Their ignorance can't make amends (nor can gum help them walk.)(2)

Poet's Notes:
(1) The heart of Trump's reactionary racist base!
(2) It was said of Democratic President Johnson by Republicans (who hated Johnson because he accomplished so much and got a lot of legislation passed) that he was "too dumb to walk and chew gum at the same time." But Trump and the Republican majority in both houses have set new standards of personal greed and incompetence.

I sit slack-jawed. Psychologists around the world should be saying: AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH! ! ! Good thing I'm old and gonna die soon : -)
