Phantasm Poem by Bryony Sheldon

Phantasm

Rating: 5.0

A black cat buried
In the walls
They found the corpse
It's not my fault

Do I surrender
To insanity?

Am I a victim
Of what shouldn't be?

Cyclops hung
By its scrawny neck
O, Pluto
My favourite pet

Am I a monster?
Am I damned?

I know I'm mortal
But am I man?

A raging fire,
The tell-tale cry,
My burdened soul
Is due to die

Am I under
Some wicked spell?

What really happened?
I cannot tell!

Oh very nicely done here Bryony. Short and sweet filled with great dark imagery. Loved the twist at the end. 10++ and added to my deliciously dark vault to be viewed again after midnight. Thank for writing and sharing this black gemstone and take care.
