Pilgrim Prayers (2) Poem by Roshni D'Souza

Pilgrim Prayers (2)

'Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it;
Prone to leave the God I love'.
Prone to squander every blessing;
Prone to pierce Your Heart above.

Keep me from my own misgiving;
Keep me from the broader way.
Keep me nearer to thanksgiving;
Closer yet, Lord, to me stay.

When I'm wrong, Lord, let me know it;
Guide my steps towards Your Love.
'Here's my heart, Lord; take and seal it;
Seal it for Thy courts above'.

P.S. Words in quotations are taken from the hymn 'Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing' by Robert Robinson (Minister and hymn writer from the 18th century) .

I love to use other writers' phrases in my writing. It takes some talent to meld them
