Pilgrims Poem by Colin Ian Jeffery

Pilgrims

Some pilgrims take the high road on life's journey
Walking sunlit butterfly pastures, sweet grass meadows
Ever strong, resolute with purpose ever seeking God
Never doubting Heaven's existence and Christ's teachings
Knowing good will flourish bathed in God's love.
Who listens to prayers with fatherly benevolence
Sends guardian angels to watch over lost souls.
Lord Jesus Christ gave the route to find eternal life
Faithful pilgrims stepping closer to Heaven by the day
Protected throughout and embraced by God's love.
Some pilgrims take the low dark road on life's journey
Fearful, bloodied, badly bruised by roaring purple storms
Burdened with guilt, doubts, uncertainty, and tearful
Never seeking God and falling prey to the Devil.
