Pillar And Pod Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Pillar And Pod

Pillar and Pod

As simple as it sounds the two talked overnight
Pod complained, “Weight on head in the gust, ”
“Be proud, ” said pillar not so far holding right.

“I stand giving light and the kicks to my sides, ”
Said the pod when it rained; road shiny-bright.
Long had passed of midnight and near twilight.

“I’m here for so long, roof on me I am proud, ”
Said pillar solemnly or calmly, meant advice.
“Stupid kills milk-cow. That act is of a dumb.”

Drunken passersby stood, peed, shook the pod
In the rain at midnight though it was only light
He could use to get home in shadow of a pillar.
