Pineapple Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Pineapple

Pineapple

I skinned pineapple
Yes, skinned, did not peel
With laughter,
Pine?
Apple?
Who gave it such a name?

And laughed, laughed
Again laughed and spoke
While biting at its flesh:
"We are all, regardless
Of who, where, also when,
Limited in knowledge;
Even wrong in judgment
And…"

Again laughed and laughed:
"The person knew pine
Was aware of apple
But not this…"

Then frowned when thought of
Invaders calling the residents
Of the lands monkeys, beasts
Or other…"

Then recalled the huntings
Slaving to sell them in market.

Stupid, stupid, stupid…

These actions are adobes
They have made the hatred
Suicides and bombers…
