Pink Horizon Poem by Simone Harriman

Pink Horizon

In a whirlwind of porcelain blue
Free winging away in a balmy breeze
Drinking in a Caribbean blue sea
With eyes wide open and ears burning
From conch shell's deep ocean secrets
Catching crashing waves in your heart

Bopping to beats under shady green fronds
Sold on tropical tunes, mento and calypso
Inhaling 'Jamaican Lady of the Night'
You discover you're kaleidoscopic colour
And crazing of emotion and passion

No longer crying; sipping on a coconut
Delightfully, deliciously drunk
On Jamaican rum and ting

Following seabirds across a pink horizon
You find yourself, giddy from laughing
Lying on an empty palmed beach
Finger tapping sparkly ivory sand
Timeless; mindfulness, you're healing
In a whirlwind of porcelain blue
