Pity Poem by Benyamim Tsedaka

Pity

I have tried to walk
Between the rain drops
Not to be wet,
And I have seen:
Indeed I am not wet
And rain has never been...
Pity.

I have tried to save
A lot of money
Not to be worried,
And I have seen:
I can save
But I hadn't the first coin...
Pity.

I have tried to walk
towards her closer
Between all women
Not to let someone else
take her,
And I have seen:
I walked closer indeed
But I was not the one
she wanted...
Pity.

But I was not the one
she wanted...
Pity.
