Please Mother Poem by kellen davis

Please Mother

let the lilacs immure me
in a garden of spring
&
the chrysanthemums shine down
on me like the summer sun

may the swallows sing to me
their morning song
&
the tiny white sparrows zip
around me in dance

give me a gentle breeze
to surf on in the morning dew
&
a nacreous mare's tail
to ride on before the sun falls

grant me an iridescent bow smiling
from the rainclouds to wave at
&
the scales from a mackerel sky
to glint against the sun

breathe the breath of our mother
her beauty never lets life smother
taste the taste of this earth
and drink in the life of every birth
see what cannot be seen in the sky
lie with the stars and clouds up high
smell the smell of our vibrant outdoors
relish in its majestic beauty evermore
