Poem For Eurydice Poem by Arthor Journer

Poem For Eurydice

Searching for the right song the perfect rhythm or melody
That could travel through the air bring you back to me
The cunning snake stole your pulse silenced your breath
Only if my poems could bring you back from the death
This poison that now flows through your veins
Stings my heart and drunkens my soul with pain
The thought of never feeling your warm hand or tender smile
Never to be lost in your stare or enamored by your style
Lonely will be my nights such a void in my days
My senses grow numb heart is def my mind disobeys
Your voice still echoes in the room your scent on the sheet
Pain will be my meal tears will be my meat
My fingers cannot strum good enough for death to let you go
Though the songs may calm beast or cause rivers not to flow
Shall I take this cup the liquid to still my heart?
Leave this vile earth and forever part
In heaven or hell join you by my side
Live in eternity and with you abide
There is a war between my flesh and my spirit
Both are passionate and loud if you listen closely you can hear it
They boast of their importance their priceless value
My soul is confused which way to go and what to do
Stagnate until a decision can be made on what direction
Thoughts attack from the flank to start the convection
Wounded heart and bleeding mind I limp into destiny
Yet even in its death it complains about what is to be
