Poem On St.Mathew's Gospel 11: 28-29 Poem by Dr John Celes

Poem On St.Mathew's Gospel 11: 28-29

Our earthly life brings burdens such
That human beings bear;
And heavy crosses coming much,
We can't carry but stare.

But Jesus foretold such events
When He was born on earth;
They leave on hearts both scars and rents,
And cause sufferings since birth.

Yet, Jesus beckons wearied hearts
And over-laden souls,
To take His yoke with ease for starts
And lighten earthly roles.

The Son of God assures us rest
And peace this world can't give;
From Christ we learn to carry best
Our crosses, and to live.
