Poem To A Tree Poem by Maneshree Govender

Poem To A Tree

You stand there happy and free,
Tell me if you had one wish what would you be?
All alone in one place, with the wind that you chase.
And it is water which you only taste.

Be a bird flying high?
Be a star in the sky?
Lonely little tree,
Although you are happy and free,
If you had one wish what would it be?
