Poetry For All Poem by Dmitry Garanin

Poetry For All

Nobody is reading anybody
Because everybody can write it better
On virtually any subject
Maybe not even deserving attention
At least at the first sight
If you judge by appearance
That is not a good practice anyway
Because there are oceans of meaning
In every manifestation of the reality
That is enveloping us all
In nearly the same way

All you do is just to pick it from the environment
And if you know the language
Coin it into succinct short lines
Without accumulation of consonants
And ambiguities
Impeding catching the phrase on the fly
By the ears and not only by the eyes

It is not necessary to torture yourself
With measure and rhyme
That is historically outdated
And un-collegial with respect to the others
As if you pretend to accomplish
Something more challenging
Than a common person is able to do
On the way of expressing him or herself
About what we are perceiving
With our collective mind
