Police - Trilogy 2 - No Glory Poem by Paul Warren

Police - Trilogy 2 - No Glory

Lying dead on an operating table
Blood everywhere was the end of their struggle
What do we now do - does his family come through?
How do they see him in this state true?

It's not a parade for all to be
When he can't be presented to see
The investigation has to take its premier part
The family for now is left with a broken heart

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I wanted to convey what it is like between the murder and when the person is given back to their family. It is hard telling a partner they can't yet see their partner. Particularly if they are unpresentable
