Polls Poem by Richie John Pais

Polls

He rejoiced
The moment he heard
About forthcoming polls

He has been always apolitical
Never supported any party
Impartial in opinions

He loves Prime Minister
Because he gave new currency
Two thousand rupees note
Is very pretty and sweet
Every party will shell out
Highest denomination notes obviously
Reward for loyalty

He loves Chief Minister
Because he gave freebies
Made him relax
Take life easy
Nothing to worry
Government will give rice and milk
When hungry and thirsty
Prize for obedience

There are many people
Good indeed
From all parties
Big or small
Either they gave or will give
Power of democracy

Seventy years have passed
Why to break heads?
Future is bright
As it was always
Don't bother about anything
Take what they give
Love what they promise
Or just sleep
Long live nation
