Pour Me The Whiskey Poem by Kevin Fix

Pour Me The Whiskey

Rating: 5.0

Bartender, please help me
Pour me a drink
Can you see that I'm empty
And I don't wanna think
About the silence that's waiting
When I get back home
So pour me the whiskey
While I crumble alone

No questions, no answers
Tonight is just mine
Just bring me the bottle
Till she's out of my mind
And I can't remember
What took forever to find
Cause peace don't come easy
When there's love on the line

And here's for the jukebox
Play some old drinking songs
No need to be reminded
Of what's missing at home
Guess I'm here till closing
And the neon is gone
So pour me the whiskey
Till I hear the last song

Bartender please help me
Pour me a drink
Can you see that I'm empty
And I don't wanna think
About the silence that's waiting
When I get back home
So pour me the whiskey
While I crumble alone

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
It started out as a poem, ended writing it as a poem/country song, that's why I repeated the last verse..
