Precious Words Poem by Kenneth Maswabi

Precious Words

Give me a handful of precious words
To undress my heart and touch my spirit
Words that knows the difference between good and evil
Words that plant happiness and peace in the garden of my heart
Words that nourishes my spirit
Give me a handful of precious words
To unwind my mind and polish my memories
Words that knows where my precious memories lie
Words that unbuttons my heart
Pouring out all the nestled venom
And washing my eyes of all the tears
Give me a handful of precious words
To illuminate my path
And fill me with hope
Words that are full of courage and compassion
Words that are not afraid to hug my spirit
Words that are enchanted with love
Give me a handful of precious words
Words that brings sunshine to my heart
And washes away my sorrow
Words that calms my mind, body and spirit
Lastly, give me Silence
To hold onto while you speak
To caress my mind in your absence
To bathe my spirit
