Pretty Cool Poem by Dean Meredith

Pretty Cool

I think I may have
Mentioned it before
About Faye Dunaway
Well not outright
But subversively

Both her and I
Separate entities
My connection one-way
If only she knew
I'd say, "Hey Faye...

Smiley face" as if
I were innocent & gay
And I'd watch her face
That beautiful older face
And I'd hope for the best

And ponder on her breasts
And linger on those legs
And marvel with her mind
And lose myself...
In her stony eyes

And I'd ponder more
About those silky thighs
And lose myself
In those breasts
And eyes...

And I'd ponder
What of it?
And I'd wonder
Where to go?
And those eyes

And her dresses
And her hair
And everything
About her...
And those thighs

And her worldly eyes
And her worldly mind
And her lonely heart
And my lonely heart
And our stony eyes

And our wild-fire minds
And our utter contempt
And three drinks in
We're slowly opening up
And music slowly eases in

And I say, "Hey...
I'm with Faye Dunaway
And she's with me"
Faye says nothing
Just shoots me a look
