Pure Joy Poem by Gautam Sen

Pure Joy

Why do I feel so ease
With you all children?
'Cause you bring me peace,
Bind me and tighten.

Smiles of innocence,
Your laughter so pure;
Sort of safety-sense
for mind, an allure.

Expectation none -
Neither me nor you;
Friendship nicely done
Like shiny morning dew.

Grown ups around us
Surprised by our act;
Counting all bogus,
Meaningless contact.

Trees often get old -
Blossoms live on gloss,
There's no such threshold
Of sheer gain or loss.

Look! The sky enchants
The blushing rainbow,
Butterflies too grant
Its splendors to echo.

A vast and enormous
Mountain entertains
On its land surplus
Tiny grass-domain.

So every greatness
Starts with little things
Of beauties spotless -
Simple bliss it brings.

Lies and feigns darken,
Force to suffocate,
The truth then weakens
Happiness' floodgate.

A child's simple grin –
A priceless gift for us.
So I feel within
Blissfully joyous.
