Quarantine Dreams Poem by Michael Walker

Quarantine Dreams

We float upon the seas of faceless souls
And quarantine ourselves for fear of death,
Whilst the tide of life still ebbs and flows
Beneath the stellar light and lunar breath.

When will you ever remove the mask
And let me see you as you used to be
Before the heavens took the earth to task
Because she let the angels wander free?

My dreams surge with an ever-burning night
That simmers in the brain and stirs the heart
To lend a hand in this immortal fight
Against the darkness threatening to part

You from me, time from eternity,
Returning to our first nativity.
