Quarshie Poem by Edward Kofi Louis

Quarshie

Flirting young girls do forget their ages as they grow!
But when they do marry after their flirting games,
There and then they do see that they are very old.
Life to them is like,
Today you flirt and tomorrow you marry;
But it will not be the same always!
Because one day they will turn and want to have children,
Then and there it will be too late for them!
Yes, they have aborted many of their unwanted pregnacies;
But i am Quarshie on this side of the river and,
I know what i see around me always.
I know what i am saying and,
I know wher i came from;
For around me are many young girls playing from bed to bed,
And these experiences in life will one day cost them a lot!
