Queen Of Jealousy Poem by Alfred Ramos

Queen Of Jealousy

You turn your face away from me
You pretend to be
The Queen of jealousy
Using reverse psychology
What you can’t see
Is love has no guarantee
You close your eyes to reality
Where your heart can never be
It will rain on your parade
Trying to hide from this charade
And you have cards you can’t play
Because nothing is wild on love’s highway
You turn off all your magic powers
Don’t water your artificial flowers
In your need to be
The Queen of jealousy
So lackadaisical and carefree
Will never work on me
You turn against the falling rain
As if that would shelter you from pain
But love is not a sweet melody
To be sung by the Queen of jealousy
You thumb your nose to the sun
After all that is said and done
Believe every story that’s been spun
Rest your laurels on a race you will not run
Because that won’t make you be
The Queen of jealousy
It will take more than a blind man can see
Still you want to be the Queen
Nothing else in between
So if you have to have your way
And I’ve said all I’m going to say
Go ahead and wallow in your material world
With every mired thought you cannot unfurl
In your tangled web of deceit
And no claims of ever facing defeat
You will reign the Queen of jealousy
Because much more you’ll never be
