Quiet Now. Poem by Carl Roussell

Quiet Now.

He is quiet now.
The silence preferable
to spoken excess;
effect - misunderstanding.
In shame he is quiet now.

Sequestered somewhere
his heart and his mind closed off.
His dagger of words
the unintentioned weapon.
In shame he is quiet now.

The pangs of pain are heard loudly in this write The line sequested somewhere.... his mind and heart closed off is a good expression of pain. very well-penned.

Thanks for the comment, Aqua. Sometimes speaking without giving enough thought to what is said can hurt those around you; for some the only way they feel the only way they can keep from repeating the pain is to talk less often
