Race Poem by Hans Raj Sharma

Race

A race
Without its
Finish line
Going on
Unnoticed
And unchecked
And everyone
From a child
Yet to born
To an old man
Just dead
Looking
Forward to
New Horizons.

Without its
Legitimacy
Mad race
Taking its
Ugly shape
Leaving behind
All decency
And ethics
Every Tom
And Harry
Hurrying-
To make hey
While the Sun
Shines.

Earthly systems
Collapsing
Big guns
Proving
Impotent too
Supper human
Powers also
Fleeing
Cowardice
Fainting
Within the four
Walls
And bravery
Waning martyr
In the field
Whereas devils
And animals
Eliminating
From the world.

God Himself
In Heaven
Heaving
Sigh of grief
Feeling
Ashamed of
His own creation.
