Railroad Poem by Eden Verse

Railroad

Rail Road
O track, thou clad in colors of eve
In heart of meadow there thou lay
In trees in bush, birds peep in awe
And sing for farers far off lay

Trains come and go, midst of Thy woe
In sun and rain therest thou stay
Thou wait in morns in eves for them
O lonely awesome mystic way

Railroad in the heart of meadow
Leadest thou to planes and hills
Wherest in wind daisies whisper
Wherest dance all daffodils

Beauteous than the cuckoo's lyres
Are the notes of train on rail
Whistles she in evening hours
As if thousand phantoms wail
Singth it in sun in rain
Unsung saddest rhythmic notes
With the wind afloat in Hamlet
Echoes of the time remote
Clouds at night from sky there peep
Silver moon with it afloat

Songs of train on flutes sing fairies
Of the far off Cacausus hills
Songs of scented puffs of summer
Songs of far off ancient mills

Valley, river, rivulet, Heath
Forlorn woods and desert sands
Silent solemn hills and castle
Echoes of all ancient lands
Mingle in the yarns of whistle
Mingle they with days of yore
Rose and jasmine, lilies tulips
Chant they in the nature's yard

Misty eve in fog in mist
It singth in an icy tune
From window panes the Farer see
In lake of heaven goddess moon

Road of rail therest it breathes
Lots of men they come and go
On the station, from the windows
Waving hands and foggy vow
Meeting, parting, therest writing
Yarns of mirth and yarns of woe
O thou mystic, O thou hermit
Withering in the people's woe
Row in sandy heart of desert
Row in shepherd's meadows row
