Rain Poem by Nightshade Starlight

Rain

There was a time that I thought you were the one,
You would tell me that everything was alright.
That nothing could take me away from you.
Those sweet soft spoken words I took to heart,
Making everything feel as if its going to be perfect
That nothing could bring me down.

I saw you then, outside that cafe.
You were standing by the door waiting for someone.
Butterflies made my heart leap,
Thats what love does, making me feel like I was flying.
I could feel the smile on my face as i started to walk to you,
The rain starting to drizzle the clouds heavy.

I felt like such a fool when i saw you,
That girl came up to you and kissed you,
And you lead her into that small cafe.
The rain came down hard and I stared
The window seperating us, you were with that girl
And I was left standing out in the pouring rain.

I felt like such a fool to see that you lied to me.
My heart seemed to break and I could feel the tears fall,
It was all a lie and I was glad the rain hid the tears.
You once were the sun shining in my world,
And now you left me standing in the rain.
You were my world, and now all there is left is the rain.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

I could see this like it was a movie. Very good description. Did this really happen to you? Or did it maybe metaphorically happen? Either way it sounds awful, but a very good poem.
