Rain

From whence rain sprung
tis a mystery
how it flows through all life
from beginning of eternity
has some ponder
if it always was, is,
and will be

See and feel the rain
with eyes
washed 30 times each minute
with skin renewed each 30 days

Science explains how rain forms
as the Bergeron process
but yet we know not why
and from where
rain came to be in our sky

Or, how rain sprinkles
our entire universe
like words of an infinite poem
expressed in esoteric verse
by hand of unknown origin

Then we have the name game
with defining words like
Convective Rain
Orographic Rain
Cosmic Rain
Frontal Rain
Acid Rain
Cold Rain
Rain

As well, we have moods and thoughts of rain -
romantic, sad, cleansing, birthing, flooding,
life-giving, renewing, inconvenient, muddy,
umbrella time, wet hair day, driving anxiety

what science does tell
is that without rain
we would not blink, see, think
or have the opportunity
to simply
be

Poem of the Day

poet Emily Jane Brontë

I am the only being whose doom
No tongue would ask no eye would mourn
I never caused a thought of gloom
A smile of joy since I was born

In secret pleasure - secret tears
