Rain Song Poem by Kewayne Wadley

Rain Song

This song brings chills to my body
The first thing that brings calm
During a moment of chaos.
Consistent, even before I know
What it is I want or what to ask for.
I love the way this song feels,
The lightening before the storm
In June.
A light, streaking through the dark
Sensual & wet in infatuation
Before the rumble of anticipation.
Your words are a tender caress
In the eye of the storm.
The concept of two opposing things
Blending as one in unison.
An inspiration to wreak as much havoc
As humanly possible.
My heart left with nowhere to run
Even before I know what I want
Or what it is that I need.
My calm in the storm
Before anything begins to take form
Before the lightening snakes & turns
Before the thunder claps & collapses
Like a million buildings hitting the ground.
There was you
