Ray Of Hope: Indo-Pak Friendship Poem by Shujaat Hussain

Ray Of Hope: Indo-Pak Friendship

Hatred snow melted by the feeling of warm
Courtyard of the neighbour became fragrant from the love of odour
Tavern blossomed, wine spilt and throat became thoroughly wet
Vagabond from a long period and restless with thirst
Pigeons of peace once again began to fly on borders
Slow and steady broken hearts becoming cheerful
When atmosphere of belief appeared at both sides
Once again rays of hope beaming; wind of spring blows
People of neighbour are ready to become friend
Rulers are bound to altar their own course
Both the countries adopted the path of composite dialogues
Peaceful destination seems nearer and nearer
Million of ways may be there but rhythm of love is singular
Wage war nevertheless compromise is a unique feature
From the barriers of border we mayn’t remain strangers
With the connection of blood culture and tradition is one
No power under the sun can separate us
If spirit of beneficence remains intact in us
Come, sit together, and ponder over
What we have got from these conflicts?
What have bloodshed, wars and tumult yielded?
We have not confronted against standing issues
Instead kept on warring against each other
What we have got longing for touching the sky?
We are the people of earth and have to live on earth
Just think how to face sorrow and joy collectively
Make a vow not to move the word of war on lips
Now will never come on the path of enmity
We will solve the bilateral lying obstacles
We will never inflict affliction to the neighbour
When Indo-Pak will adopt the course of friendship
What to Asia will hoist flag on the globe
