Razed Poem by Unnikrishnan Sivasankara Menon

Razed

Rating: 5.0

Prophet Muhammad
One of the most compassionate
Persons ever graced our planet,
A most revered person
Even who do not follow Islam.

They speak ill of him.
For an ordinary man
As the wound is deep
And his heart bleeds,
He may raise his voice
For he wants to be heard.
The only way he knows
To protest his wounded
Religious sentiments.

The fascist government
Uses all its machinery
Against the hapless poor;
He is behind the bars,
His house, the home
For several generations
Of his ancestors
In no time, razed!

Illegal construction, they said!

His parents, wife and children
Thrown on the road.

This is not his country
Anymore.
This is not His Country
Either.

In the past, the fascist regime didn't spare even octogenarian priests, servants of God.

The far right Hindu Fundamentalists fascist ruling party in India has now trained their guns at the minority community. Earlier, they had killed artists and activists who thought differently.
