Reach To The Sky



a flower blooming in the dark
searching out that one spark
the light source of its soul

feeling its awakening
in burgeoning self awareness
overwhelmed by reason
shocked by its capriciousness

overjoyed in its own beauty
and fueled by its curiosity
trapped by seeming futility

unable to break free of the soil that gave it birth
it reaches to the sky
