Recalling Jonah

Let’s help our neighbour find The Door
That leads to life and love
Let’s think of others more and more
Whilst on The Way above

Let’s speak to those we see are blind
Those deaf to Heaven’s Word
Restore peace to a troubled mind
Spreading The Gospel heard

Let’s speak The Truth to those we see
To those on every street
Obey The Lord to set them free
To sit at Jesus’ feet

For once we too were just like these
We too deceived were fools
Wandering blundering self to please
Living by self-made rules

Down hell’s dark road we walked by night
Seeking amidst the fray
Hoping to find our heart’s delight
Chasing shadows by day

We walked and talked as neighbours here
In filthiness and shame
Before we learned our God to fear
And trust in Jesus’ name

Now here we sit both saved and clean
Our souls are Heaven bound
Should not we help and intervene
That light in these be found

Recalling Jonah’s awesome plight
His troubles on the way
Let us not wait till bleached and white
Let’s serve The Truth today! ! !
