Reconciliation Poem by Alexander Thomas

Reconciliation

Through the shifting winds of time,
There are ghosts that remain,
That lurk in shadows and appear in the rain,
That remind us of deep and enduring pain.

When I see you I'm still aghast,
My heart races so fast!
But we cannot run from the past,
Maybe time to confront it at last?

Such beauty but such sorrow,
From who did we each in turn borrow?
For so long I did wallow!
But I no longer want to feel hollow!
