Red Cap's Retirement Poem by Richard Wlodarski

Red Cap's Retirement

Rating: 5.0

Take time to know
The twilight years
Wake early in the morning
Behold glorious sunrise
Breathe in the fresh air
Be grateful for the breath of life

Take time to see
The glory years
The majestic beauty
Of multicolored butterflies
Breathe in the fresh air
Be grateful for the gift of sight

Take time to hear
The soundness of these years
The symphony of Mother Nature
And The Byrds The Beatles The Monkees
Breathe in the fresh air
Be grateful for the gift of hearing

Take time to smell
The fragrance of these years
The perfumed landscape
Of diverse cultures
Breathe in the fresh air
Be grateful for the gift of smell

Take time to taste
The bon apetite
The delectable plate
Of this wondrous life
Breathe in the fresh air
Be grateful for the gift of taste

Take time to touch
The heart of love
The hand of homelessness
The smile of a newborn
Breathe in the fresh air
Be grateful for touching life
