as we were taking our
breakfast of eggs, bread,
fish, rice and coffee
i tried to encourage my
mother-in-law to eat more
for her emaciated body
so that she may reach
the age of 100 years old,
and she looked at me
seriously and quipped
'you are so cruel' which
i thought and observed she
really meant.
i reflect on this: she is
correct, what should one
do when she is
a 100 years old?
