Remember? Poem by James Hall

Remember?

You told me I'm worthless
You said I'm a waste of your time
You knew you would hurt this
When you told me to squeeze the trigger of that nine
I believed all of your lies
You continue to waste your breath
As you scrape the glass across my eyes
Trying to push me closer to death
There's no use
I'm already there
Put my neck in the noose
From my lungs you steal air
You said You'd be happy when I'm dead and gone
Soon you'll get your wish and I'll be dead
I figured out I was just a pawn
In your game, because of you I bled
When you hear about me talking my life
When you see me six feet in the ground
Remember that it's your fault I picked up the knife
Remember I love you even though you put me in the ground.
