Remembering Tsunami Poem by Marites C. Cayetano

Remembering Tsunami

It was the day
when they could do nothing
but watch
as their loved ones
and their homes
were taken away
from them
by the tsunami.

It was the day
of nightmare
that left them
so much pain
that even time
could certainly
never make them
forget.

The day of tsunami
let's all not forget
and let's make that day
a reminder
for each and everyone of us
to make each moment
of being with our loved ones
a precious one.

To the survivors
I deeply bow my head
with respect and admiration
to your courage and strength
doing your best
to overcome all your pains
and sufferings.

And,
for the departed
is my prayer
for their eternal peace.
