It’s been exactly a month since you passed from this world
To the next, starting the next stage of you existence
You have left a mark in each one of us,
One that still aches with remembrance

One that still craves the wisdom of your voice
One that still yearns for you smile to shine upon them
Yet this is now gone, forever
Leaving emptiness where your guidance and love used to dwell

Right now for all who knew you, it’s the physical they miss
Yet if they could just look within, they would feel you
Your presence still fills the air around us.
Your spirit still lives within each of us

This is cold comfort for the long lonely evenings
When you were a call away from being spoken to
A connection away from being heard
Now we rely on memories to hear you and see you in our minds eye

You are missed more than words can express
And loved more than any one heart can express
You will dwell within each generation to come
Your legacy will be heard in the cry of each newborn to come

Dad, we love you, we miss you, we mourn you
Yet we remember you, and cherish your memory
We will love you,
Always and forever, beyond time
