Reminders Poem by brooke dietz

Reminders

Rating: 5.0

when you look at me you just see the image
but when you look behind these eyes there is much more
and no im not talking about some type of prize
theres genuine pain and hurt
theres confusing thoughts
theres sad memories

but theres also love and moments of happiness
those are the moments that i wish i could only rember

i rember the first time crying
and shaking
and breaking
all at the same time
i rember hearing the chimes
just clinking together it almost sounded good for a minute

as i was wiping my tears away
so i could get the blurr gone

i took that item that one thing that started a path
in my life
that one thing that opened a door that
should have never been unlocked

it glided gently
as its results formed a neat little bubble
and slowly ran down
it looked like a stream it was a sort of a peacful moment
i felt released and free
i didnt hurt anymore
i quit crying
it was like tingling sensation
and that was only at the mere age of 12
now three years later some of that sensation is gone
but it still helps
and it leaves the reminders behind
