Repression Poem by Andra Wadas

Repression

Rating: 5.0

When does the mind stop
allowing the heart to speak
let your soul guide you
Why does the pain of our past
creep in and open old wounds
Is love really love
or just our hearts crying out
Wanting to be loved
Not wanting to be alone
Is our mind trying to trick the heart
over riding the emotion
that it is truly what you feel
from the first time
left behind
in the murderous scene
when the heart was stomped on
tears could not stop flowing
the stabbing pain in your chest
not being able to breath
The slow suffocation of the loss of life
the uncertainty of a feeling
of any feeling to be factual
slicing your wrist
just to feel something
so real that this cannot be denied
rather than this cold shell
that was formed so many years before
Is this world so fake
in the lies it makes up
these fantasies we choose to chase
Someone just take my life
So that I may for the first time live
Make me feel something
So that I may cry
whether in contentment
or sadness
A tear is a sense of purity
to replenish or cleanse
Start over
a deepest desire
to be apart of the world
not to just live in it
No one wants to be alone
will our hearts be able
to see a love we were meant for
Are we so repressed
that we can not see
pouring an acid to cleanse our eyes
wash away the scene
of what our eyes have captured over time
it only takes one
to understand
to want
to be able to break through
that frozen shell
patience in time to open up
An understanding
to see what no one else can see
When that time comes
will your mind trick
the heart and soul
this can never be love
you are lost and unworthy
will you ever be ready to be loved
Find me please
we can save each other
before there is no return
and the serenity and contentment
of life is over
