Rescued Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Rescued

Rescued

Wonder if, you ever,
Have seen or owned a pet,
I mean those abandoned,
Ignored, mistreated…

After an accident,
Under a car, ran over,
By careless driver…

Like that of Jack London's,
Abused, then insulted…

If you have, remember,
The same are humans,
If ignored, enslaved,
Direct or indirect…

If forced into reserves,
Bordered like the cages,
And blamed with blame,
Correct or incorrect…

Such pets and humans,
Behave like each other,
Mistrust all the others!

In Vancouver's reserve,
And in Tim, I witnessed,
Shyness and aloofness,
Without bad intentions.

To them the strangers,
Do what do the snakes!

Ancestors experienced,
The white ate pemmican,
Then gave us in return,
The water that fired!

"Royals are your parents, "
Was a lie that covered? ? ? !
