Respect Poem by ROGEL FRANCIS SORIOSO

In life God doesn't demand worship but rather respect
For respect is greater than any values in every aspect
The ability to speak your mind without being confronted
To be heard and seen instead of being taken for granted
We were all given the mouth to speak and ears to hear
To voice out our all opinion without showing any fear
We were all given the eyes to see and a mind to understand
To criticize what we believe is wrong from the beginning
So we could give life as we know it a brand new meaning
There are things that are needed to be fixed or to be replaced
Things that should be dealt with so they would know their place
We did not give up in Egypt when we freed the Jews from their chains
We saw what was wrong when people are abused and in pain
We freed the Negroes from the shackles of slavery
We fought so gallantly with courage and bravery
We will never surrender for the call of change
No matter how difficult it is or no matter how strange
We will fight to the death for our values and principles
To free those who are enslaved by their own ignorance
So we could bring back to life its true significance
We are the tribe of the Lightning and Thunder
We light up the skies and we shake the ground under
The days of those who enslave our people are near
For we will again strike with terror and fear
