Retirement Poem by Amal Alawar

Retirement

Hooray, hooray Jane you're free πŸ“ͺ
today you become a retiree βœ‰
No more alarms to bug you at eight ⏰
You wouldn't care about the dateπŸ”ž

Now you'll enjoy the seniors discountπŸ’²
and maybe manage your savings accountπŸ’°

Dear Jane we gathered to say goodbye πŸ™‹
but you know we're jealous, we can't deny πŸ™‡
You're leaving a family in a crazy place 😨
With memories to cherish and more to erase πŸ™ˆ

You know we will miss you and go around πŸ”
walking on a floor with shaky ground πŸ†˜
No papers, no staples no office supplies πŸ“‘ ✏ πŸ“Žβœ‚
we'll huff and puff and burst some cries 😲

For those of you who came today 😊
to honor a friend let me say πŸ”Š
Her journey lasted 29 years β›΅
so raise your glasses and tell her Cheers 🍻
