Rhythm And Rhymn Poem by Allan Thorne

Rhythm And Rhymn

his poem is a satirical comment about poems that rhyme. In my opinion rythmn and rhyme to often get out of hand and take over the ideas and the strong images that a poem must have and turn everything into clever but meaningless mush. There are great poets from the past who could do it but they had huge vocabularies that few modern people can muster.

There was a young man from Kent
Who drank up his very last cent
And when he was thoroughly bent
Told the landlady he hadn't the rent
When asked how his money was spent
He told her to a friend he had lent.
But in her heart he made not a dent
So out into the street he went.
EEEEK! ! !
Make him stop.
