Ria, That Lucky Go Girl! Poem by Sumita Jetley

Ria, That Lucky Go Girl!

Rating: 5.0

In the morning's gentle light, Ria rose with thoughts in flight,
On her lips, a Sufi line, 'Kindness bridges the divine.'

Walking brisk to class that day, by the road in disarray,
An old man's plight caught her eye, groceries scattered 'neath the sky.

'Let me help, ' she softly said, bending where his fruit had fled,
Gathered close in tender care, apples, bread, and a pear.

Old Mr. Hamid, his name, with tales of Rumi and acclaim,
Shared his wisdom over tea, in his book-lined sanctuary.

'Change yourself, ' he quoted sage, wisdom from a bygone age,
Ria listened, heart alight, saw the world in kinder light.

From that day, her path was clear, every human heart held dear,
In her steps, a dance refined, with Sufi kindness intertwined.

Every face, a story told, every heart, a chance to hold,
In the weave of daily grind, Ria's kindness intertwined.
