Rise And Fall Poem by Praveen Kumar In Shobha Priya

Rise And Fall

She was once away from me,
At a distance beyond my reach,
Enticing me with all her charms
In jasmine smile on rosy lips
With fullmoon sparkles in her eyes
With tender youth brimming in her,
I found honey welcome inviting me
And sweet waves wrapping us;
I cried for her, I know, she, for me,
Inseparable, though far distant we're;
It was how bonded, we were bound
Like Sun and Moon in sky's spread,
Like light and flame in a bright lamp,
Embracing each lest miss each other,
Though never near, and miles afar.

She tied to me by her charms,
I took her within to my arms;
Afar we played our love games,
Yet shared own inmost streams.

How dream and real can intermingle?
How distance and reach speak for each?
Yet we struggled, fought hell and heaven
To quell distance and tie us in to one;
Distance is distance, works as a fence,
Distance distances and builds a wall,
Opens its mouth to a bottomless gulf
And we fell in to it, alas, to our grief;
Though not together, united in the gulf,
We find a strange togetherness here
Of charms and love, of common dreams,
Of struggles, setbacks and final doom;
The common state that binds us now
Enlivens me to her inner whispers,
I know that her, to my deeper thoughts.

Immortal love, immortal indeed,
Bear no prints of material world;
Fall and rise is a temporal build,
Love finds its ways to keep its hold.
