River 6 Poem by shuvo chakraborty

River 6

They walked upon the river bank
Hand with hand in the afternoon hour
Denting the thirty and near half long years
Abiding the Sun set in usual overture.
Nothing spoken for reviving the dead grasses
Before the ascension of starry wonders upon the haven
To find their desperate reflections on inert eye balls
In sad denial of lengthening darkness beyond the desperate height.
Messner shuffles the bricks by swindling fingers
Before the first owl set flying from trembling perches.
