Roam Poem by G J Salgado

Roam

She was lost in her thoughts as she daydreamed the day away
Where all of the colors of the world soon began to fade
She consumed what they were while she watched it all turn grey
Nothing left from the earth of everything that was made
She thought of the man that stole her heart from humanity
He saved her from her own insanity
She would hold his hand under the moon during a cold winter's breeze
He was the kind of man that adored her and cut down trees
Dangling from the stars they swung across the sky
Never letting anything in between so that their world would never die
Letting the river carry them into another place
Into realms where the ocean is above space
Nothing in between who they want to be
Beyond the skies and the sea
Seeking what was left hollow
Waiting for time to follow
Just the same as it was then
When the world came back again
Keeping the distance of what would never be torn
Breathing fire into what needs to be born
